"Once again the Festival of Christmas Trees has been and gone. But what a fantastic success it was!

Sixty four individual trees all decorated by different local community groups. Eighteen different sets of live musical entertainment including a wonderful concert from the Scunthorpe Junior Co-operative Choir just 16 hours before they went on to win the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year competition. Congratulations to them.
Scores and scores of bacon sandwiches, cups of tea, scones and jam consumed.
Hundreds of delighted visitors viewing the trees and listening to the music.

The best news of all however is that the Festival raised £3,143 for Lindsey Lodge Hospice – a new record despite difficult times financially.

Our thanks go to all who helped to make the Festival go so well: particularly the groups who entered trees, all the Musical Groups and individuals, the members of Old Brumby United Church who made us so welcome again and to all the visitors who dug deep into their pockets."
